Keeping your pet healthy is one of the most important parts of being a pet owner, but it can sometimes feel like there is a lot to stay on top of. Vaccinations, flea and worm treatment, routine checks, and all the preventative treatments that help keep your dog or cat feeling their best can quickly add up, both in cost and in mental load. That is exactly why the Happy Tails Pet Health Club was designed: to make preventative care simpler, more manageable, and easier to budget for throughout the year.

As an independent, family-run small animal practice, our team focuses on continuity of care, high standards, and getting to know each pet and owner as individuals. That means the Pet Health Club is about supporting your pet’s wellbeing all year round with practical, preventative care from a team that genuinely wants to make life easier for you.

Why preventative care matters

Preventative care helps catch problems early and can reduce the risk of more serious issues later on. For instance, regular vaccinations help protect against common infectious diseases. And ongoing flea and worm treatment helps prevent uncomfortable infestations and potential health complications. Routine vet and nurse checks can also help spot changes that might otherwise go unnoticed.

In short, prevention is often simpler, kinder, and more affordable than treatment after a problem develops.

What is included in the Happy Tails Pet Health Club?

The club includes many of the treatments and checks most pets need routinely, which means you can plan ahead rather than worrying about several separate costs popping up at different times of the year. The plan includes full vaccinations, including kennel cough for dogs, flea and worm treatment, a free 6-month nurse check, free nail clipping, free anal glands check, an annual urine test, 15% off neutering, 10% off dentistry, and
10% off in-house blood tests.

There is also a Puppy and Kitten Pet Health Club, which is especially helpful for owners starting out with a new addition to the family. Alongside vaccinations, flea and worm treatment, claw or nail clipping, free anal glands check, a 6-month nurse check, an annual urine test, and the same discounts on neutering, dentistry, and in-house blood tests, the puppy and kitten plan also includes free microchipping. Puppy plans also
include kennel cough vaccination.

Pet health plans versus pet insurance

It is also helpful to understand what a pet health club is and what it is not. While a pet health plan covers preventative treatment, such as vaccinations and flea and worming medication, pet insurance is there to help with unexpected illness or injury. They are not the same thing, but can work very well alongside each other.

A health plan helps you stay organised with the routine side of care. Insurance can help protect you financially if your pet becomes unwell or has an accident. Together, they can provide a more complete approach to looking after your pet.

A simple way to give your pet the care they need

Joining the Happy Tails family means choosing a practice that wants to make caring for your pet feel easier, not harder. The Pet Health Club takes the essentials of preventative care and wraps them into a practical plan that supports both your pet’s health and your household budget. Whether you have a playful puppy, a curious kitten, a lively adult dog, or a relaxed older cat, it is a straightforward way to stay on top of the care that matters most.

Support from a friendly, experienced team

Our lead vet, Jaimin Patel, has more than 15 years of experience in small animal
practice, including hospital and emergency care settings, and the wider team is
committed to treating each pet as if they were their own.

That matters because vet care works best when it is supported by people who know
your pet and can notice the small details over time. Whether your pet comes in for a
nurse check, vaccinations, or nail clipping, you are seeing a team whose goal is to build
a long-term relationship with you and your pet. We also offer a broad range of services,
including consultations, diagnostics, and surgery, so your pet’s ongoing care is backed
by a full veterinary team when needed.
